One Could Make A Life’s Work Of Calling Truth Seekers Idiots
April 23rd, 2008
And I’m seriously tempted to do just that. Their latest: Re-create 68 and RAIMD are a CIA black ops front constructed to discredit activists everywhere — particularly, I’m assuming, truth seekers.
Which I find kinda fucking amusing, in that the easiest way to discredit truth seekers is to, well, point to material provided by truth seekers.
In that interest, an interminably long, Godawful PowerPoint presentation, set to one and a half interminably long, Godawful folk songs, and presented to you, dear reader, without the benefit of copyediting or basic punctuation.
Enjoy.
One might assume the truth seekers had been stealing pages from Vernon Bellecourt’s playbook. Y’know, if one could possibly arrive at the conclusion that the dumb motherfuckers could read.
I’m twenty minutes into one of the Alex Jones movies and taking notes; I’ll be posting soon. I owe the world an apology for not having fun with these pinheads earlier. I’d always considered truth seekers rather harmless, if not the brightest bulbs burning. Twenty minutes with Alex Jones, and I’m convinced these motherfuckers are as batshit crazy as a barrel full of Britney Spears.

A little ways into the power point I was reminded of our dear friend Vernon. I read the rest of the post and had to laugh when I also saw that you were having a Vernon flashback as well. I think I will channel Vernon for old times sake.
“Folks, you have been had. Taken in by CIA operatives and FBI disinformation specialists. You are all dupes, gullible do gooders and unwitting pawns of a dastardly conspiracy that seeks to destroy our movement!!”

I just said my official goodbye to the even-more-foolish-than-truthers group of ballerinas. I’ll probably keep posting here anyway, but I just wanted to say this as a parallel:
We need to be talking about the global food market and the impact of biofuels and the petroleum wars upon it. Here’s a good background for imperialism, globalism and food: http://www.answers.com/topic/food-supply-and-the-global-food-market
In addition to that, everyone should certainly be looking at the current events (this week especially) surrounding the global food economy.

I can’t stop laughing, trm49. The worst part is that I think even Bellecourt’s line of horseshit was more coherent than the truth seekers’. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why anyone would sign on with these wingnuts.

It’s weird how until he died, the major media would still call him up as the indian spokesman when various issues came up like mascots.
Here, check out my friend, or acquaintance. Instead of talking gibberish, do you see how he has this glint of insanity in his eye and has the hand gestures. I spent some hours talking to him right at the time he ’saw the light’ when attending a fancy law school after watching the Chomsky documentary. He was the class president of Beverly Hills high, went to Yale, and worked at Goldman Sachs. It seemed so promising at first, but it was ultimately so frustrating to deal with because I would try to step through various misconceptions, such as a strong tendency to blame lists of elite bankers and politicians as being behind the problems. We’d talk about how you should use a systems/institutions perspective, because blaming individuals would make it seem like a totally different outcome would arise if we just got ethical politicians and companies. He would appear to be nodding, but then the next time you saw him he’d be saying the same thing and saying that I’m naive about our rulers. Just under the surface it would veer into racism, or considering asians and jewish people to be a cognitive elite rather than accepting that an upper-class immigrated to the U.S. Seriously, where are they going with alerting the public to the ruling elite, if they don’t really want to change the system - it’s sort of like the LaRouche people who aren’t aware of any other alternatives to capitalism and socialism. Anyhow, you’d have to expect someone with that background to have huge mental blocks to surmount because they’ve been reinforced their whole life that they must be smarter because they’re so successful. The other attorneys could be far worse with tons of social control. They might know the correct liberal terms for the workplace, but could have extreme classist behavior. For instance, I saw that he went onto a lawyer message board greedyassociates.com and was making some statements against the start of the Iraq escalation in 2003, and they were really vicious and showed a really narrow latitude for acceptable thought
