Benjamin, just a suggestion on a late Sunday evening. You may want to consider adding multimedia such as video and audio clips. You obviously have a lot to say about regional and national/international politics, and I’ve found sometimes the tone from the person carries a lot more influence than what you attempt to convey from typing. I’ll admit, I’m really not sure what your goals are with this blog, be it just an area to vent or real goals for social change, but in terms of influence, video and audio is where it’s going to be. Get on the train and you get to steer the ride.

Yeah, that way Crowell can use his astonishing editing skills, you know, like subtitling a burger king commercial, to try and poke fun at you on you tube. Then we can hear him gloat about his piss-poor hit counts for months till we puke.
July 28th, 2008 at 8:35 am
Yeah, and where’s Joe Sullivan when you need him? I mean, he could be our fulltime media critic…
July 28th, 2008 at 5:15 pm
Grant Crowell gets hit counts?
July 28th, 2008 at 7:19 pm
Did you see his one retarded burger king video? There is a tall guy with medium long hair who wants a big mac or something, and then Crowell adds text with an arrow pointing at him labeling him ‘Ward Churchill’, and the joke is that Ward Churchill is having a mac attack or wants a burger or something. The man doesn’t resemble him in any particular fashion.

Its OK for you guys to laugh at things that aren’t politically correct — I won’t tell.
July 28th, 2008 at 10:26 pm
No need to tell us, Grant. Laughing at the intellectually enfeebled isn’t politically correct, but every time you post I laugh anyway.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
Just a single post of the original commercial has over 300,000. Two different “ghetto versions” have around 2 million each. You’re just a talentless bloated egotistical moron. Hence the puking. God I despise people like you.
July 29th, 2008 at 10:42 am
“Political correctness” has nothing to do with the fact that your material is lame, Crowell. You’d be a no-talent hack, no matter what position you took. That’s the truth of you from all points on the political compass.
July 29th, 2008 at 10:54 am
What Karl says is true, Mr. Crowell. Otherwise he’d have hired you to work for Fox News or something.
July 29th, 2008 at 12:00 pm
now, the ghetto version is real entertainment.

Repost for Rama so you don’t have to dig for it:
Millions of Dead Cops, Dead Prez, Rage Against the Machine, Leftover Crack, AOTP, Peter Tosh. Shit man, I dunno, the list goes on and on.

I wish I had had a camera to do a Youtube of this scene at the mall where a store with lots of designer jeans had its quarterly discount sale. There was a mob of high schoolers when it opened at 6am, after sneaking out of the house or something. They let them in 5-10 at a time, and amidst the frenzy, the mom of some girl tracked her down at the store buying stuff with her stolen credit card and pitched a fit. pretty funny.
July 30th, 2008 at 10:38 am
Right you are, Tyndale. We’re down for the whole list, especially Rage and Dead Prez. How about adding Propagandi?
July 30th, 2008 at 10:42 am
Thought so.

hey - is anyone familiar with posse comitatus, who could offer an opinion on the legality of this? I guess the National Guard can be called up if the governor decides to declare an emergency, but before that, is the stuff listed here such as using NORTHCOM and other military agencies, constitutional? http://www.coloradoindependent.com/view/colorado-fusion

This made Democracy Now! http://www.democracynow.org/2008/7/31/headlines#10
For me, this brings up incompatible mental images of the student leader, Jung, holding a beer on his myspace that was posted vs. my picture of the NSA phone tapping room. Of course, the real interface would be police officers tiptoeing into the tent village to send back reports or set listening devices under the flyer tables.

Have a look at Churchill’s intro to the classics edition of COINTELPRO Papers, Renate. He runs the Posse Comitatus stuff down pretty thoroughly, up to 2000-2001 (or maybe 2002). Things have only gotten worse since then, of course. Think “Homeland Security,” and remember that these guys have been treating that Constitution you mention as just another source of toilet paper for a long time now.
Maybe we should all get together and have a march about it, eh?
July 31st, 2008 at 11:55 am
There you go again, getting all radical on us, Rama. I mean marching about such things would be way, way over the top.
It’s best we save such extreme tactics for more important issues, like… Well, you know what I mean.
Better that we all just stood around and bore witness on this one.

This was posted before, but towards the end of this movie of the Boston DNC, there is a scene (skip to second half, where some kids are burning something) where some malcontent is bitching about posse comitatus, and a bunch of army soldiers policing the city. Here, the FBI informant who goes on to send Eric McDavid to 19 yrs for conspiracy is wearing a red bandanna, kafiyeh mask, black shirt and talking on the phone to central command. Beautiful

You’ve really got to start giving credit where credit’s due, folks.
Example: Nobody’s said an admiring word about the amazing determination and stamina exhibited by Grant Crowell in accessing his own site more than 126,000 times (so far).
Like wow, Walking Eagle, we’re impressed.
